Tiny Bubbles Dress in Mammoth Flannels

Hi, I'm Holly! I work at Connecting Threads' sister company Knit Picks. Thought I mostly knit these days, I've been sewing since I was 6. My grandmother was a garment worker and there was nothing I loved more than to sit at the sewing machine with her and sew my own clothes. I now have two young daughters (ages 1 and 2-busy times!), and I love sewing clothing for them even more than for myself. So when Connecting Threads started carrying gorgeous Mammoth Flannels, I knew I wanted to make my older daughter, Penny, an Oliver & S Bubble Dress. I just got finished sewing it. What do you think? Made in Striped Tweed Flannel (color: Flame, item number: 7683), I think it turned out so soft and cozy.

Wiksten Top in the new Indigo Patchwork Fabric

I'm so excited to be writing this post for Connecting Threads! I work in the same building, just down the hall from all the sewing machines and fabric, but I generally stick to knitting and yarn as Catalog Director for Knit Picks. However, when my coworked Heidi walked through the office with a stack of fabric from the new Indigo Patchwork fabric collection, I did an almost cartoonish double take. All that blue in one place was irrisistable!

Guest Blogger, Jody Houghton, talks about her new collection!

Many of you may know my whimsical characters, FAITH, HOPE, and CHARITY from my past fabric collections. My ladies have been my voice and image for creating uplifting messages for many years now. Whether it be content for my Country Register column, Girlfriend Wisdom, or gifts products for Sisters, Girlfriends, or Quilters, the message is always positive.  How could characters with names honored by these great virtues, be anything but for the greater good?  Partner that concept with my love ...

Owl Pillow

WHO, WHO, WHO doesn’t just love a whimsical owl? I know I do, and from the moment I started making it, there was an argument about who was going to get it when I was finished-me, my sister, my daughter, Miss Sue, or as a gift. The Jury is still out on that one. I chose to make the owl pillow from Curiosities & Mischief ...
