I have worked for Connecting Threads since 1997. I am the Merchandising/Project Manager. I coordinate getting our patterns tested and samples sewn for photography. I also monitor our website content. This is a great place to work! Quilts and coworkers that share the love of quilting, what more could I ask for in a job?

    Pillow-to-go-Pillowcases

Long ago, my mother-in-law used to make little pillowcases for 12″ x 16″ pillows in cute fabrics when my kids were little. It started when they needed a little propping up or cushioning in their strollers. When they were a little older they started sleeping with them and they never slept without them. She still kept making new pillowcases for them in fabrics that they loved. Now the tradition has come full circle and I have a new grandchild ...

    Weekly Curated Sale: Cutting Tools

“Measure twice, cut once”…while measuring is extremely important, having the right cutting tool for the task is a must. It makes the job a lot easier. Having good, sharp cutting instruments will make all the difference in the world! Here are some of my favorite things! For starters, I love the Olfa Quick Change Rotary Cutter–the 45mm is the one I use most of the time.  It is great for left or right handed quilters. I admit, I have a hard time ...

I love to make pillows because they can add a pop of color or change the feeling in a room with very little time and effort. That’s my kind of project. I chose the Diamond Pillow downloadable pattern by Crazy Mom Quilts for my Plethora of Pillows project. I decided to use the

It is such a quick and easy project a beginner could make. It would also make a wonderful gift if I could part with it. I used scraps that were left over from projects sewn ...

    Bobbi Blackbird and Candy Cardinal

I have been so happy since Bobbi Blackbird and Candy Cardinal came into my life. Just kidding. No, I’m not. These adorable litle pincusions make me smile every time I look at them. I collect fun pincushions that I display in my sewing room and change them throughout the year. I would use Bobby for every day and Candy during the holidays.

    Caddy Pad

I love to take my iron to classes and retreats but don’t like to mess with trying to figure out how to get a hot iron home. I have seen the Caddy Pad pattern made in many different fabrics and it always looks so cute.

    Travel Tissue Case

I made the Travel Tissue Case. It is a free download pattern so you don't have to buy a pattern to make it. It is a great gift and doesn't use much fabric. This is my first one that I made but I plan on making more. I love that it has the zippered section so you can put your lipstick, credit card and money in it, or any other little items you can't live without and off you go.
