Tool Sale Favorites!

If you aren’t already aware, we have a tool sale going on right now that has a pretty great selection. Select tools are 25–40% off! You can check out what’s available here: TOOL SALE.

I went around and surveyed some of the employees here to get an idea of what their favorites are and here’s what I found:

Jenni’s Favorite: Pigma Micron Pens
“I love these! I used them for transferring embroidery designs, and they’re especially useful when you want a fine line. They are also great artistic pens that help capture a great deal of detail when illustrating.”

Lisa’s Favorite: Olfa Quick Change Rotary Cutter
“I love being able to switch out to a specialty blade quickly and then back to my normal cutting blade with no hassle at all.”

Laraine’s Favorite: Appliqué Pressing Sheet
“I can’t live without my Appliqué Pressing Sheet (in fact, when I misplaced mine during a remodel I had to order another because I couldn’t be without it). If you do any layered fusible appliqué you will love this tool! Place the pattern underneath, layer the fusible pieces on top, and iron directly on the sheet. Once it has cooled the completed unit can easily be peeled off the sheet to transfer to your project! You can see pictures of how I’ve used it in my blog post here.

Alisha’s Favorite: Deluxe Take & Press Mat
“A great size, and super convenient! This handy pressing mat works wonders for on-the-go projects or even just as an extra pressing surface to keep nearby your work station.”

Katrina’s Favorite: Clover Rotary Cutters
“I recently upgraded my cheapo rotary cutter to a Clover rotary cutter. I absolutely love how much more reliable it is than my last one. Sharp and sturdy, with smooth cuts and an easy-to-hold handle. I love it!”

Ann’s Favorite: Clover Embroidery Hoops
“After checking out the Clover Embroidery Hoop, I am eagerly waiting mine to arrive. I really like the way the two hoops secure with each other and the way the adjustment knob is covered so thread does not catch on it. I plan to use it with my resurrected crazy quilt project. I’ll be sure to tell you more about it soon.”

Mari’s Favorite: Clover Mini Iron
“I LOVE the mini Clover iron! It is the best for appliqué. I love to do very detailed hand appliqué and the method used is freezer paper. This little iron really helps in providing the finest 1/4″ seam fold overs with very firm creases that delivers smooth-looking appliqués. It allows me to be very successful at what I am fond of doing!”

Deb’s Favorite: Oliso Pro Smartiron
“I love this iron! I was skeptical in the beginning, thought it was awkward to use compared to the conventional iron but quickly got over it. You don’t have to lift the whole iron and set it on end, it just pops up on its own with less stress on the wrist and shoulder. I love that the auto shut-off engages after 30 minutes rather than the much shorter time of most auto shut-offs.”

Jenna’s Favorite: Thread Heaven
“I love Thread Heaven! I do embroidery, but I hate it when my thread gets knotted or tangled, especially when using multiple threads. This conditioner is smooth and makes pulling the threads very nice!”

Karen’s Favorite: Hot Hemmer
“While I haven’t used it just yet, I’m looking forward to trying this tool with bags. From the sounds of it, it seems like it would be extremely helpful with making straps!”

Judy’s Favorite: Olfa Rotary Circle Cutter
“I love the Olfa Rotary Circle Cutter. I hate tracing circles and cutting them out. They are never perfectly round when I’m finished. I use this to cut perfect circles for appliqué, yo-yos, templates, or any time I have a pattern that needs a perfect circle.”

Anita’s Favorite: Hold It Precision Stiletto
“I just ordered this tool and am so excited about it. I’m looking forward to the help it will give me with holding the fabric as I sew, especially things like half square triangles and templates. I am also looking forward to helping hold fabric with the grippy end while ironing so I don’t burn my little fingers.”
