Featured Tool: Perle Cotton Thread by Presencia
Connecting Threads Reviewer: Judy
What is this thread typically used for?
Perle Cotton Thread can be used for embroidery, applique, decorative quilting, or crazy quilting.
What were your initial thoughts?
I have known about it because I love to embroider and it has been around a while. I love the samplers with coordinating colors and when I saw them I thought I needed to get them.
How did you use it?
I use it for embroidery. I like the size 12 if I want a finer look and for small size projects. I’ll use size 8 if I want it to be thick, dimensional, and really show. I also use both sizes for wool applique and blanket stitching.
How did using it go?
I love it. It is very good quality and the colors are rich.
How long did it take you to learn how to use it?
No time. You don’t have to separate it like regular embroidery floss. You just cut it off the spool and stitch.
What did you like best?
I like the color selection and that the balls are 10 grams so I don’t run out of thread.
Why do you NEED to try it?
Because I love to stitch and I want to have the colors that I think I will use.
Could you see another potential use for Perle Cotton Thread?
Any type of craft where you need a thick thread. Especially if you want it to show.
Who would appreciate Perle Cotton Thread most?
These are perfect for:
- Beginner and intermediate quilters
- Embroiderers
