Today, Project 18 is our Stripped Pillowcase for a more formal use than just travel. Found on page 30 of our Fast, Fun, and More Gifty book, there are instructions for constructing the little pillowcase two different ways. It was designed so you can use up any leftover 2-1/2″ strips that might be in your stash or scrap bag.
It can be constructed the traditional way sewing the strips together, or you can layer the backing, batting, and sewing each strip together through all the layers, thus quilting the top as your are assembling it. There is a lot to be said for the quilt as you go method, especially if you need an instant gift!
The sample we used for the book was made in the traditional way and it looks quite cute here doesn’t it?! Either way, you’ll end up with a super darling pillow.
The Pretty Roses collection was used in our sample. I love all the blues together as it creates such a sweet, peaceful feeling, besides, I love, love, love blue!
We all love these pillows here at CT. That are so fun and quick! Enjoy!
