Staff Favorite Quilting Tools

This year has brought many amazing products to not only customers, but our staff, too! Below is a list of quilting tools that have been approved by Connecting Threads and would be a perfect purchase to end 2015. If you have been eyeing any of these items, now is the perfect time to check some out and have them in your home before the new year!

If you use embroidery floss or thicker thread, the Embroidery Needle Threader is definitely for you. Tested (and loved) by our very own Mari Martin, this little threader helps to keep your project moving along without having to struggle with that tiny little hole! She also loves the Omnigrid Marking Ruler Trio, which comes in three convenient lengths.

Staff member Karen has been enjoying the Bloc Loc ruler. Not only are they durable, but the non-slip surface makes squaring up fabric a lot safer. If you’re looking for an easy way to get perfect half square triangles every time, these handy rulers should be at the top of your list.

The Hot Hemmer  is another favorite of hers this year; it ensures a perfectly straight line every time and can be used with both steam and dry irons. Karen isn’t the only one who recommends this handy tool, though- Anita loves hers as well.

The Hold it Precision Stiletto  is also currently one of Anita’s favorite things to use- the curved end makes it the perfect tool for pressing and sewing, not to mention ends your struggle with having hot fingers!

Threading oval-eyed needles has never been easier than with Judy’s favorite item, the Clover Desk Needle Threader, which also includes a thread cutter. She also recommends the Crystal Glass Head Pins for excellent, sharp tips and a longer shaft for quilting.

Dawn has been using Fine Tipped Transfer Pens for her intricate embroidery designs and marking up printed and embroidery patterns that no longer imprint. She also loves the Blue Olfa Splash Rotary Cutter’s easy blade-change feature and soft grip handle.

Whether you’re considering a late Christmas gift for the quilter in your life or figuring out what to purchase for yourself next, all of these items are sure to be a great gift to end off a great year.

I have the Omingrid ruler trio and use them everytime I sew. I had my husband drill a small hole at the end of each of them and have all three hanging on my machine table.
