I love to make pillows because they can add a pop of color or change the feeling in a room with very little time and effort. That’s my kind of project. I chose the Diamond Pillow downloadable pattern by Crazy Mom Quilts for my Plethora of Pillows project.
I decided to use the Isle of Enchantment fabric collection because I like the crisp clean colors. This is a great pattern for using up some scraps or use one of those charm packs that you just had to have and now can’t decided what to make with it.
I used the Hobbs Poly-Down 20″ x 20″ Pillow Insert. I love the soft polished cotton covers on these pillows.
The pattern directions were very good and the pillow went together very quickly. This would be a great pattern for a beginner. I was pleasantly surprised to that she included the instructions for quilting it like the photo on the pattern cover. I normally don’t like to quilt, especially if it is going to show but decided to give it a try. I did end up with a little snarly loop on the front that I saw when I was finished. It would have looked just fine but bugged me that it was there. I know, I know, that is being very picky and I would not have been able to see it from a galloping horse 10 feet away.
But, I thought of a solution. I took out my little Clover Soft Touch Pic and pulled the thread to the back.
Voila! It was fixed and I LOVE my pillow!
I put the pillow on my bed and decided I need another pillow just like it so I can have two. Back to the scrap bin!
