Long ago, my mother-in-law used to make little pillowcases for 12″ x 16″ pillows in cute fabrics when my kids were little. It started when they needed a little propping up or cushioning in their strollers. When they were a little older they started sleeping with them and they never slept without them. She still kept making new pillowcases for them in fabrics that they loved. Now the tradition has come full circle and I have a new grandchild on the way and plan on making them for her.
Now there is a pattern similar to Grandma Bunny’s pillowcases in our Connecting Threads book.
Laraine made the cute Christmas Pillowcases that are made in Days of Christmas fabric in the Fast Fun and More Gifty book. I NEED to make some of these for the holidays because I’m sure she didn’t make them for me!
I always make them for my favorite little people like Tyler!
Tyler loves anything and everything Star Wars! I made him some regular size pillow cases and a Pillow-to-Go for his room. He has an amazing bedroom.
I use them for myself too! I always use them at home and especially when I travel. In addition to having several every day pillowcases that match my room, I have different pillowcases for traveling. I even have one that use I take when I go to Hawaii, and there are many others that I take on trips. They fit right in my carry on luggage. My husband just laughs and makes sure I remembered to pack it.
These are so quick and easy to make and are so easy to personalize for kids and adults, and at home or while traveling. I love them! They are great for beginners or if you have older children that want to learn to sew they are a quick and simple beginner project.
