I love really small projects, so I decided to sew up this for our Gifty Galore project. Some of you guessed it on our Quilt Along group on Quilt With Us. It’s the “Peas in the Pod” pincushion from the book, Super Cute Pincushions! For this project I had to find wool felt, and wool roving, which I found at my local craft store. I had not worked with this stuff before, but it’s used for rolling up and felting small pieces. When it gets wet, it knots up and felts really nicely. I used Light Steam-a-Seam II to bond the felt pieces together. I also used Wonder Invisible Nylon Thread to tie together the top of the opening of the pea pod, this helped cup the small peas inside plus it holds it all together. This project hardly took any time at all, so I’m sure you all have no excuses! I think it’s a really cute pincushion, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
