Gifty Galore 2015 – Project 4

Starburst Pillow Pattern

Hello everyone!  I’m Andy Knowlton from A Bright Corner.  The Gifty Galore blog posts are just getting started and I’m looking forward to seeing what each contributor shares here!  Today I’m sharing a free downloadable PDF pattern for this fun Starburst Pillow.

I love giving pillows as gifts – they’re quick & fun projects and it’s easy to customize each pillow to fit the recipient.

For my pillow I used the fun Quilter’s Candy basics .  In the fabric requirements section of the pattern I list what each print is so you can find them on the website and order the same ones if you choose.  I just love the fun, bright colors of the Quilter’s Candy.

Because this pillow uses fusible webbing and raw edge applique it’s a quick project.  My favorite fusible webbing for pillows is Heat n Bond Lite and Featherlite.  It adheres well and doesn’t gum up my needle when stitching. Connecting Threads has a similar product, Lite Steam-A-Seam 2.

You can download the Starburst Pillow pattern here, and you can see my other download patterns here.

a fun project …thanks for the pattern

  2. Linda Plank - July 27, 2015

Love this pattern and especially the way it’s put together to use binding, which looks much like piping, which is far more difficult! Thank you for sharing the pattern with us!!

  3. Susie Rose - July 28, 2015

I like this pattern! I have 2 – 16″ pillows that I need to cover. The quilt binding edge is what I did on a pair of 24″ pillow covers that I did earlier this year.

Now that fun pillow will surely brighten any day!

This is a very pretty pillow………but personally I’m not keen on raw edged applique so I’ll think about it for a while first. I was really ready to roll with it this evening until I saw the raw edge part.
