Little Marshmallow has arrived! Isn’t he just the cutest little ice block snowman you’ve ever seen? I really wanted to make a snowman for my Wire Table Stand to put out for Christmas and Mari was kind enough to design this adorable Little Marshmallow Snowman free pattern! Look how cute he looks on the stand!
I used our Quilter’s Candy Basics and I think the Lotta Dots – Ocean Mist makes a great snowy background—and of course the white on whites worked great for the snowman. Since the prints were so simple, it allowed me a lot of room to play with the quilting – and boy did I play! I particularly loved making the maze in the snowman body. Since the body and the snow were the same color, I used the quilting to separate them. To me, the diagonal lines in the sky made it look like snow was coming down and gave the background a little extra texture. Did I already say I had fun?!
I think the different sized and wonky placed buttons give him a ton of personality. That and the crooked cross stitch embroidered smile. I couldn’t love him more!
