Traditionally, a bell pull
is woven and is used as a pull cord with a handle or knob that attaches at the bottom. It was used to call butlers, maids, or servants in homes. They were also used in hotels in the early 19th century as a centralized bell system.
I had so much fun stitching the applique and love the simple quilting around the edges.
I also love how the Lotta Dots-Ocean Mist fabric fits perfectly for the snow background! Falling along with the snow is a trail of hearts leading to the little snowman at the bottom. He’s growing inside and out! Besides, I think the blue-green and different shades of red look really pretty together!
Isn’t this little snowman cute?! I love that he’s catching and hugging his heart. It’s as if he’s saying, “awe, thank you! My heart is important to me.”
I thought the idea of the bell pull
would make a great quilt to hang on walls that are long and narrow. Since it can be difficult to decorate a long, thin wall, this 6″ bell pull
is definitely ideal!
