    New Years Resolutions

As the holiday season comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on 2010 and thinking about what I want to get accomplished in 2011.  I sat down with some of my co-workers last week to chat and quickly realized that I am not the only one with a number of quilting / sewing goals to accomplish in the coming year.  For me, I am resolving to start my very first quilt.  My mom has always been a big quilter and over the years, I have watched her create some impeccable pieces.  When I was younger, I always marveled at how beautiful her quilts were and wished that I had her skills.  Now that I am surrounded by such a strong community of quilting-enthusiasts, I've decided to stop watching and start doing! Last week, I asked some of my fellow quilters and sewers what their 2011 resolutions were.  Here is a summary of the responses I got...

    Introducing Kit Builder!

Have you seen our new website feature, Kit Builder?  It is so awesome!  We just added the feature in an effort to make it easier for you all to visualize the projects you are making and to pick the best fabric for them.  I should warn you, it is highly addictive.  On my first pass with it, I customized the Baby Nine Patch Quilt.  I used fabrics from the Canning Day collection and I must say, it is utterly adorable! The page was designed to be...

    Antoinette Fabric Sale!

Starting today, one of my favorite fabrics went on sale.  The Antoinette line is a fun, vibrant fabric with some beautiful patterns.  Nothing makes me more excited than making (or receiving) a beautiful apron and this fabric is just ideal!  Antoinette is most definitely our sweetest collection to-date.  Coordinating prints run from the palest yellow and pink to bright, vibrant fuchsia, lime green and dark periwinkle.  In addition to the cutest apron ever, this collection is perfect for a little girl's bedroom or to dress up your table for a tea party.

    Cyber Monday Sale Extension

In case you haven't seen what the Cyber Monday sale entails, Connecting Threads is offering everyone a 50% discount off of all samplers (excluding batiks).  To view what is still available, click here. We would like to apologize for any technical delays that you may have experienced last night and this morning as a result of the sale. Our IT team has been working hard to get the problem resolved however; in light of the issues, we have decided to extend our sale until tomorrow (11/30) night at 11:59pm PST.  Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. This was our first Cyber Monday sale, and we've definitely learned some lessons for next year! Thanks for being so understanding.

    Cyber Monday Sale!

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself as the newest member of the Connecting Threads team.  My name is Alisha and going forward, I will be serving as the company's Marketing Coordinator.  While I have never quilted anything by myself, my mother is an AMAZING quilter and I really admire her work.  My sewing abilities are somewhat limited but I can make a pretty rockin apron. Because I'm new, the rest of the team has given me the honor of announcing our upcoming sale.  Skip the hassle of Black Friday this year and join us on Monday, November 29th for some smoking Cyber Monday deals!  I've been told that I can't disclose what our sale will entail, but I can tell you that it is going to be amazing.
