Abundance Table Runner

The Abundance Table Runner was a fun pattern to sew; of course I loved it because it’s Quilt As You Go. I love the fact that once I’m done sewing I can just bind it and be done. I really liked the tree design and since it’s done in our Limited Edition Fall/Winter Batiks I had fun fussy cutting the leaves. I was able to get so many different colors and parts of the design so the leaves are all so varied. It adds so much interest.

I just fused the leaves on and didn’t even sew them down. (Ok, I admit I was a little afraid I would screw up the photo sample.) I will probably just either sew down the middle to make it look like a leaf vein or around the edge of the leaves so I can wash it if I need to. By just fusing the leaves the whole runner only took me an afternoon from cutting to binding.  Since I sewed the photo sample they used for the catalog, once I turn it in it goes through photography, then lives in Customer Service for a little while in case people call in with questions, then finally comes home with me. I took it home last night and put it on one of our storage units that has my son’s toys in it. He saw it and said “Oh Mommy, this is for me?! Thank you!” Then came over and gave me a big hug. I patted myself on the back and thought I must be doing something right if he, at age 4, is appreciating quilted items!!

Wow what a nice table runner, It looks so nice. I like how neutral the background is, and how the colors pop. Hi Tyler!

Beautiful! I love how easy it is to construct and all the splashes of color on the light background. Now Tyler has his own quilt! Wahoo!
