Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to introduce my PDF patterns to all of you . . . it has been great fun working with the Anita at Connecting Threads to get these patterns loaded up and out to you. Just a little background information about Sipiweske Quilt Designs: I started designing patterns back in 2003 and attended a couple of quilt markets in the beginning, but lately it seems that the good old career and family commitments have needed to come before my quilting career. So I am super excited to be able to bring patterns to you through this wonderful world of technology. |

The colors and prints of Maple Skies remind me of bright autumn days. We don’t get many of those up here in the Northwest, so it is nice to have a fabric to help me remember those beautiful days with warm colors and crisp air. This week for your Designer Download Patterns, I wanted to pick out a few of those patterns that a would help you bring a little of that Autumn magic into your home. |

Maple Skies is one of my favorite collections that I've designed to-date! I just love the colors and the movement in this collection -- especially in the focal print. This group immediately makes me think of Fall, with the variety of colors reflective of the changing leaves in the season. |

As I was pondering the design for the Squash Blossom Table Runner, I was relishing in the delight of completing the Bountiful Harvest Lap Quilt. How wonderful it was to move onto a lovely table runner. When creating multiple designs for the same collection, in this case, Maple Skies, it is always wonderful to make them complementary so if someone wanted two quilts for the same room they will be charming together, hence, the vegetable theme. |

While designing Bountiful Harvest the Herringbone block seemed to mimic the whimsical border plaid. It also gave opportunity to incorporate color elements from the whole quilt. The Herringbone block has a little trick to building it. One must use a partial seam to construct the block properly. It’s a simple technique and is included in the pattern. This project requires moderate piecing skills but the finished kit will produce such a beautiful quilt to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. |

Technicolor Tidings is bright and modern. There are lots of modern IDP (Independent Designer Program) patterns that would work perfectly with Technicolor Tidings. In this blog I have only shown the patterns that are specifically Christmas or Holiday themed, otherwise I could go on forever about the endless patterns that Technicolor Tidings would be a fit for. |

I think the collection name Technicolor Tidings sums up the feeling I was trying to express about the collection quite nicely; transforming something classic and traditional into something current with a punch of color and whimsy. I wanted to design a Christmas group that wasn't traditional, but rather bright, bold, fun and retro inspired. |

Technicolor Tidings brings us Christmas in full COLOR. It reminds me of the first time I watched Disney on TV in color (yeah, I just dated myself!). It was just breathtaking! Technicolor Tidings is fun, bright and lively so when I saw it for the first time, I saw presents, presents and more presents all wrapped in these lovely hues of pink, green and teal. Of course, being wrapped in fabric, one MUST have fluffy bows, hence, the bows on the packages. |
