Oooh…looks like this book is a MUST HAVE! I love those photos you’ve posted. I lean towards strips I think, mostly because I’d like to think there’s more in it, so I’ll have a larger quilt in the end. One pack of charms just doesn’t seem to go far. ;-)

  2. April Says:
    09/12/2011 8:12 am

I love strips since I can use them for almost anything. And I like to cut a few pieces off to use in my scrap quilts, then the rest can go to whatever quilt I was planning for it.

  3. Lisa Says:

Looks like a wonderful book! I think I’d have to pick strips, so many different things you can do with them.

  4. Dorothy S Says:

Just the book I need because I ordered several charms from CT and need some ideas.

great book ~ would love to win it! I’m partial to charms more than anything else ~ except full cuts and fat quarters.

  7. Dana Says:
    09/12/2011 9:01 am

Fat quarter bundles are my favorite, but I’m not sure that counts, so I’ll pick…charms. Thanks for giving us a chance at this book, I have their others and they are all wonderful. Full of great ideas.

  8. Dee Says:

My favorite precut is charms! I probably have close to 100 charm packs. They don’t cost a lot and you can create so many small quilts with them, to give away or keep for yourself!

This book looks wonderful. Thanks for the chance to win it. I think I like strips the best, but I do like charms also. It is so handy to have these precuts in case you need a quilt quickly. Saves a lot of the work!

  13. Anna Says:
    09/12/2011 9:48 am

I’m not sure what my favorite is as I have only worked with one charm pack and one jelly roll. I would like to try a layer cake next. I do like not having to do all the cutting so I do like precuts and would love a pattern book that is just about them.

  14. Vicki Olmstead Says:
    09/12/2011 9:50 am

I like all three, but strips the best! They are fun to work with and can be cut into many different sizes. They are handy to have around when you need to do a quick gift! This book sounds like a must have.

WOW! It is so wonderful to have a chance to win(even tho I never do) and just to let you know that I think all the precuts are wonderful. I particularly like the “Layer Cakes” as they make up a top in nothing flat. You can always recut the layers into 4 charms if you need a smaller size or more than one of a color piece. Thanks!

  21. Patricia Wells Says:
    09/12/2011 11:37 am

I am still new to quilting and use a LOT of precuts. Now that I have a new granddaughter (my first one just born 2 weeks go) I have a feeling Nana better get busy! Thanks for your consideration!!!

  39. Mary Glynn Lambert Says:
    09/12/2011 11:53 am

I have used layer cakes in a pattern I got in a similar book and it has been one of my alltime favorite patterns. I would love to have more of this type of pattern! I do like charm quilts also though. I have one I made that has over 1000 different pieces in it, and I wrote in permanent maker on the back the name of every person who contributed fabric for it. It’s very special to me.

  40. Amanda Stelmach Says:
    09/12/2011 11:54 am

I am not sure what u like. I likepatterns that are easy for me. If I won a book I would learn what the difference is between jelly rolls, charm packs and strips. I usually tell the fabric store what I need cut or if I like a fat quarter I buy and it even if I don’t have a project for it. I hope to win to learn new techniques. Best of luck everyone!!!

  52. Jean Dunning Says:
    09/12/2011 12:04 pm

  53. Laura Little Says:
    09/12/2011 12:05 pm

I used to be a charm junkie, then went to strips, at least until I started using layer cakes. I guess “I love them all!” is the best answer.

    09/12/2011 12:16 pm

As a fairly new quilter (less than 6 months) I like charm packs the most right now… though I am just beginning to get a clue as how wonderful 2 1/2″ strips are ;)

  60. Jeanette B. Says:
    09/12/2011 12:18 pm

I like charms the best because I can get the flavor of the fabric at a reasonable price. Great for making smaller projects too. But, gee strips are nice too!

  61. Liz McCarthy Says:
    09/12/2011 12:18 pm

Jellyrolls were my fav, but now I am really having fun with layer cakes. I’d love to win this book.

  64. Mimi Says:
    09/12/2011 12:20 pm

Jelly rolls are the best! So simple to use!

  65. Rachelle Says:
    09/12/2011 12:21 pm

The only king size quilt I ever attempted (and finished!) was based on a jelly roll pattern from another of Lintott and Lintott’s books.

  66. Carol Ann Says:

I have to vote for the jelly roll strips. They are so versatile with many patterns. Love to have the book!

  67. Sue Abero Says:
    09/12/2011 12:31 pm

I love strips–so versatile and easy to use–so I would say that jelly rolls are my favorite. They make more time for the favorite part of quilting–piecing and less time for the least favorite part–cutting!

  68. Jennifer Says:
    09/12/2011 12:31 pm

I’m a new quilter so I’ll have to pick strips, since they’re bigger. :)

  69. Amy Gallagher Says:

  77. Bea Lee Says:
    09/12/2011 12:44 pm

I prefer FQs, but after that maybe 2 1/2″ strips, I’ve made several quilts with strips, have lots of charm squares waiting to be used, so a book like this would be great for ideas!

  78. Kathy Raabe Says:
    09/12/2011 12:45 pm

I love 5″ charms since they’re the bulk of my pre-cut collection. Jelly Rolls and Honey Buns are a close second by their sheer number. Lonely third is only one layer cake, but it’s for a very special project (and has a jelly roll mate) to go with the 12″ blocks I need to embroider. Would love to win the book for more ideas.

  79. Michelle DeLaGarza Says:
    09/12/2011 12:48 pm

    What a cute book!

I have only worked with strips. I would love to try some of the charms and layer cakes – I have some in my stash – but never have any good ideas. Maybe this book would help!

  237. Pamela W Says:

I like all three, but tend to lean toward jelly rolls. No miss cuts always the same size.

I do love Charm packs. They make up quick and fun projects. I’ve never made anything with a jelly roll, so I don’t know if I would love them or not ;-D

I love the jelly roll books by these ladies. I don’t have this one, yet. My favorite precuts are charm packs, but I love fat quarter bundles, too. Love the photos of the quilts in this post.

Having a bad back that severely limits my ability to cut, all three are a blessing to me. I have to admit I find myself more drawn to Jelly Rolls right now. There is so much you can do with them especially when you add them to bigger cuts.

  243. Kim C Says:

I love the 5 inch charms. They are fun to work with.

  245. L.F Says:
    09/14/2011 4:04 pm

I would say strips are still my favorites.
I have been working with other precuts recently – layers, charms and fat quarters, but all my favorite quilts have been “scrappy” quilts made from jelly rolls, or strip bundles. Though, the delight of unpacking a fat quarter bundle is just as fun as unrolling a jelly roll!!

  246. Sue Goodin Says:
    09/14/2011 4:18 pm

    I just love all the pre-cuts. I can’t really say I have a favorite.

  247. MarciaW Says:
    09/14/2011 4:27 pm

Usually I buy fqs, and of the pre-cut choices given prefer charms. Though, would depend upon the pattern as guess sometimes a layer cake or jelly works better.
