New! Free Pattern for Vintage Book Bag
6.23.2014

When I started here, almost three years ago, I recolored the Vintage Book Bag, an archived pattern, into our library-themed collection called Bookish. I was fortunate to obtain the catalog sample and have been carrying it around ever since! The reason I enjoy the bag so much is its 9″ x 12″ x 2″ size which is just right for bringing home books from the library or carrying a notebook or tablet.

Just for fun, I thought I would see how the Vintage Book Bag looks in the lovely Isle of Enchantment collection. I couldn’t decide between the three colorations, so instead of making the pattern available in a kit, Teri, our fearless CT Director, told me I could make theĀ Vintage Book Bag a free pattern download. This means everyone can pick their favorite to make!

So, here ya go! Here are three versions of the Vintage Book Bag in Isle of Enchantment.

This is such a great bag. I made the Bookish version when it came out a few years ago and I’ve been using it ever since – it’s the perfect size for carrying around my knitting projects.

I have carried it for hand projects too. It is a useful size – just big enough to hold a book, pattern or computer-printed instructions for whatever project you are working on. Very handy bag!

When you had this as a kit a couple of years ago I thought it would make a great gift for my daughter. By the time I got around to ordering it, the kit was out of stock. I did find another bag pattern to use and was able to order the fabrics. She uses her bag everytime she goes to the library. Now I have the pattern so I can make myself a library bag! Thank you!!

I think that I will make a few of these for my younger Sis to pass out to a few special Library patrons. She is a Librarian in Ms.. I will also make a few for my special friend to pass out locally. Thanks!
