The finished mini on my wall of minis

The finished SEW mini on my wall of minis

It was Mother’s Day this past weekend which happened to coincide with me reaching a point where I needed to sew (do) something for myself. It’s not that I haven’t been sewing; it’s that everything I’ve been sewing has either been for work or for a Row Robin Mini I’m in. Don’t get me wrong – I love sewing for both. The Row Robin has especially been a lot of fun lately. The problem is all the things I’m sewing for work are for future projects so I can’t share them and I won’t get them back for months. The Row Robin Minis I’m working on can’t be shared because then the people that will eventually end up with will see them and I won’t get my finished Mini until August.

Life is BUSY, there is all kinds of mayhem (see pictures of some of the mayhem below…yes, the dog is currently sporting a cone of shame – double mayhem) going on constantly, both with work and personally (on top of it all I caught ANOTHER cold).

Sometimes you have to stop and do something for the pure fun of it. Friday was that day for me. I was still consistently blowing my nose so I couldn’t even go to my regularly scheduled Quilt Group meeting (I didn’t want to get any of them sick). Instead, I pulled out my Mini Quilts book by Cluck Cluck Sew and picked a project. I decided on the SEW mini quilt, pulled out some of my Cotton + Steel fabrics, and away I went. It was just what the Doctor ordered, quick, fun & easy! I had it done from start to finish in just a few hours.

Warning: these minis are addictive! After I finished SEW I started pulling fabrics from my stash for Ziggy Baby Mini, Buttoned Up, and Pow-Wow. Eventually I’d love to have them all on my wall joining my Dwell Mini  and Spools Mini, both patterns by Thimble Blossoms.
