Quilts Made Modern Blog Tour & Giveaway!

I was thrilled to be invited to join C&T’s Quilts Made Modern blog tour because this is a very popular book around the office and with our customers.I just love it!

It’s no big mystery why the book is so popular. Weeks’ and Bill’s approach to book writing is that it is not just a collection of patterns; they see it as a resource for teaching and engendering a lasting love of quilting. This is the added value they bring to their books. You can tell that they teach quilting workshops and classes because their enthusiasm for teaching pours out of every page. I love that they illustrate their lessons on the various aspects of quilt making with many examples from their own experiences and those of their students. These personal stories make the lessons memorable and the book very enjoyable to read.

Of course the patterns are wonderful too, and I love that they show them with many size options and in different color schemes. My personal favorite is “Transparency”. I love the illusion of the overlapping fabrics!

And now for the giveaway part! If you happen to be one of the few who hasn’t already purchased the book, you can win a copy from C&T (or if you have purchased it, you can win a copy to get someone else into quilting!). Because we can’t resist throwing in some extras, we also are giving away three charm packs (one each to three different winners). Just answer in the comments with which charm pack you would like to win (you can see them all here). So that’s four lucky winners in all–pretty good odds!  Your last day to enter is Wednesday, August 3rd at 11:59pm.  We will select and announce the winners on Thursday.

Following the blog tour? Tomorrow is the last day of the tour over on Weeks’ Craft Nectar blog. (And if you’re interested in reading more about the book, Weeks has some great Q&A about her process over there too!)

Rules: No purchase necessary.  Must have a US mailing address to enter. One entry per person.  Must provide a valid email address so that we can contact you if you win.

Pick only ONE? No way! I love them all! LOL! Okay, okay … if I can only have one I’d pick “Sunset Batik Samplers”. Thanks for the tour, it’s been fun.

I really like the mountainside batiks. I am fascinated by plaid looking quilts and like the one shown from “Quilts made Modern”.
