Behind The Scenes: November 2015 Connecting Threads Catalog

It’s always a little odd shooting for a colder season when we are still enjoying the throes of a long summer. Shooting for our November catalog was no exception! More often than not, the Portland area stays summery and warm all through September and even now in October.

With a perfectly sunny day in the mid-80s going, we cracked our knuckles and dove into some beautiful collections at some equally beautiful houses.

Both days of shooting, we shot in the lovely Hosford-Abernathy neighborhood in southeast Portland—one house being that of our awesome and talented fabric designer, Winthur!

It was such a pleasure shooting both Kinderfolk and Heirloom Manor in such gorgeous locations, I think we all got a little sidetracked and didn’t end up with as many “backstage” photos as normal.

Here are a few gems, though:

Now that our two new exclusive collections and a handful of outside collections are all available online, which is your favorite? For me? Definitely Kinderfolk. With my Dutch roots and even more Dutch in-laws, I have a soft spot for windmills, wooden clogs, tulips, and redwork.

I have been gathering red-and-white fabric for a two color quilt, and am so excited to see the charming designs in the Kinderfolk collection!

I’m with Eileen……I am so drooling over heirloom manor. I could decorate my whole house with it. Curtains, tablerunners, chair cushions…..sigh…

Love the red star quilt. Been looking for the right pattern for all the batiks I purchased two years ago from CT. Maybe that’s the one for it too.
