9.10.2015

We have a special treat for you today! Cindy from the Live a Colorful Life blog has offered to guest post about the Not Quite Granny quilt that she made using Amanda Jean Nyberg’s new collection, Good Neighbors. Enjoy her post and be sure to check out her blog to see what else she’s working on!

I’m thrilled to be here at Notions today to talk about Good Neighbors, designed by my good friend, Amanda Jean Nyberg of Crazy Mom Quilts, for Connecting Threads. The fabric line has bright and cheery colors–just like Amanda Jean herself.

Connecting Threads sent me a fat quarter sampler to work with. Isn’t it so cute?

Amanda Jean has also designed some new patterns for the collection and she asked me to test one of them–Not Quite Granny.

I made the baby size version and actually made the quilt top at our annual quilting retreat in Minnesota, with Amanda Jean sitting right next to me. She was a “good neighbor” for sure.

While using the more saturated brights for the blocks on the front, I used the prints that had more white for the backing.

You can never take too many pictures of a cute quilt.

And, of course, making the binding scrappy was a requirement. After all, Amanda Jean is the Queen of Scraps!

Good Neighbors is available now from Connecting Threads. And be sure to follow the fun pincushion party going on for a chance to win a charm pack of this delightful fabric.

Love the colors in this collection. However, I am thinking that dear hubby would notice if I bought more fabric. Am running out of room in my sewing space.

Visiting from Amanda’s blog and really like your version of the Not So Granny square. Let’s not forget the scrappy binding too, lovely. I’m going to add this to my stash busting scrap options.
