Kit Builder ideas for Father’s Day
6.13.2013

Father’s Day is coming up, and granted, while this may be a little late in the game of making a quilt for dad, using Kit Builder is such an awesome tool to play with.  Many people have mentioned that it’s hard to find “guy quilts”, but playing around on Kit Builder makes it fun to play with skus from existing collections and basics that you can choose for yourself in the colors the guy in your life would like.

I really love this tool, because whether it’s for Father’s Day or any day, it’s really fun to pick a pattern you like, and color it up.  There are so many choices and if you’re like me, and you’re a visual person…this tool is so helpful and so awesome because quilts come to life on the screen based on your choices!!

Besides letting you color up a quilt, it calculates the yardage needed and prices that out.  You can also choose to add the pattern, as well as backing fabric too.  If you haven’t tried Kit Builder yet, check it out.  It’s worth a look!

So…maybe dad won’t get a quilt this year BUT next year I’ll have no excuse.

I love the solids used in the Starry Splendor, I could also see it in the Batik Paradise.
