June Little Quilt ~ Tutorial 2

June LQ 14

Here is my completed June Little Quilt! Wahoo! All quilted and looking nice. I really love this quilt and its versatility. There are many ways you can go with color and fabric choices and this is just one. To access the June Little Quilt Kit click here. To download the June Little Quilt Patterns click here! Now, let’s get started…

June LQ 8

This is where we ended with all the rows constructed and laid out in a gradation order, ready to be sewn together. I love the fact that this quilt does not require any matching of seams. This pattern is perfect for a beginning quilter for that reason.

June LQ 9

Then the rows were sewed into pairs and laid out again to keep the order in tact.

June LQ 10

Then pairs were sewn together in pairs making three sets of four rows.

June LQ 11

Finally, all rows sewn together. This is when I found my mistake. I knew it was way too wide. I used twice as many fabrics as the pattern called for but still cut the same amount of pieces required in the pattern from each fabric. Silly me!

June LQ 12

So I just cut off one end leaving a 1/4″ seam allowance and voila’!

June LQ 13

Borders are added and now the quilting begins…

My finished Little Quilt all quilted and bound. Lovely!

Thank you Pauline! Honestly, you can easily make one of these in a day from cutting to binding. You can do it!

This color/fabric selection and layout is just gorgeous! Too bad this was not the kit for sale. I guess I will be changing my fabric out and saving the “kit” fabric for something else 😀

Awe, I’m sorry Becky 🙁 I just had to do it in another colorway to show how versatile the pattern is…

Mari- I went back to double check the original June little quilt pattern because I did not think I liked it enough to order it. (I have bought all of the other little quilt patterns.)
However, because you showed a variation I liked- Guess what ? My little quilt collection will include the June quilt also. Thank you! Robin W.

Robin, that’s great! It is also why I chose to make the second one in the way I did. Wanted people to know the versatility of the design. I’m glad you got it!

Jackie, I quilted in the ditch for the inside of the quilt and echo quilted 1/4″ in the border. Thanks for asking!
