Introducing the Hampton Hues fabric collection

I cannot stop drooling over the new Hampton Hues collection.  It is my personal favorite fabric collection to date.  I have been obsessed with coral colors for many years now, and it’s so exciting to see them come to life in a fabric collection.  I was inspired by the beach and the Hamptons lifestyle, the colors of seashells and sand dunes, clean designs with a sophisticated flair.

Hampton Hues is a collection that I created, however I don’t claim this collection as my very own; my name is not on the selvage.  The reason for this is that the main focal print – Mums Delight – was an antique textile print that we purchased.  We do purchase prints from time to time and build them into full collections.  That is what I did here, and because the focal was not designed by me, I don’t take credit for the entire collection.  I don’t think it’s right to claim work as your own, when it isn’t.  However, the rest of the collection is indeed designed by me.  So even though the main focal isn’t by me, I am very excited and proud of the overall collection and aesthetic I created.

Mums Delight – Multi #6753

When I started to concept this collection, I almost immediately knew I wanted to do a coral based palette.  I also knew that I wanted to take this collection in a more modern direction.  Mums Delight came from a textile from the late 1960’s, which was perfect to make this into a retro yet modern collection.  To me, it just lent itself to that direction.

Getaway Floral was created by tweaking the focal, making it a smaller scale and omitting colors.  I was just messing around at first, then really loved what it became and the texture it created.

Trendy Ogee was a fun print to create.  I definitely wanted to incorporate some geometric prints in this group, and this is a popular motif and fulfills that modern aesthetic I wanted to achieve.

Beach Breeze developed when I was just doodling randomly.  I love the simplicity and feeling.  I’m always trying to reinvent myself and reinvent motifs, so I wanted to have something round, like a dot, but not.  And the crests give a beautiful fluidity as well as marriage to the beachy Hamptons vibe.

Modern Vibes is a fun, delicate chevron print I designed to keep in trend with all chevrons out there.  This is one of my favorite prints, it’s clean, pretty, and graphic.

Sand Pearls is a great ditsy dot print; a fun blender print that gives some texture.

I really do love this collection, and the kits are pretty amazing too.  Check them out here!  I hope you love Hampton Hues as much as I do!  Enjoy!

Wouldn’t this collection make an amazing beach wedding? Coral is a gorgeous color and one I’ve been drooling over as well. Congratulations creating a lovely collection around an obviously lovely inspiration piece.

I have been playing in the kit builder quite a bit with this collection. I can also see it in a beautiful cotton skirt or top, pj bottoms, or colourful curtains. I really love the beach breeze print and keep going back to it. I am not a fan of pink but love coral and the melon colour. Another one hit out of the park, Jennie!

Hi Shannon, Yes, I completely agree! A beautiful tunic or sundress or skirt…ahh the possibilities are endless! I am not a fan of pink either, it’s so interesting that coral is so close on the spectrum to it, but gives such a different feeling, and one I love oh so much! Thanks for your appreciation!!

I was so excited to see this new collection! The focal print is fantastic and the other prints are very beautiful, too! I think it would be perfect for an easy block style quilt for summer. Corals, and peaches are some of my very favorite colors, too. I have many blouses in those colors. I just love this new collection! Thanks Jenni!

Yes, colors vary in the differing medias, online vs catalog, each persons monitors differ too. But yes, the catalog gives a great representation of color! But believe me, they’re beautiful, happy colors indeed!
