Introducing: Country Inn
4.5.2017

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our latest fabric collection! Meet Country Inn, a gorgeous array of of Traditional French Country designs inspired by a love of French country life. Its palette of creams, taupes, brick reds, and denim blues make it the perfect collection for quilters looking to create  projects with a warm and inviting quality.

At the heart of the collection is the Country Life focal. Unlike traditional toiles, which tend to be larger and directional, Country Life is a versatile, tightly-packed, tossed toile. The coordinating prints compliment the focal prints and add a nice amount of texture overall. The collection can be used in its entirety for a subtle, colorful quilt or broken up into its core colors for three uniquely different, monochromatic color palettes: neutral, brick, and denim.

The Country Inn Projects

Our first project is the Rise & Shine Quilt Kit by Thimble Blossoms, which utilizes almost every print in the collection and is the perfect project for a beginning quilter. It works up easily and results in a beautiful, generous-sized throw (60″ x 72″) to snuggle under.

Another An English Coverlet Quilt Kit, designed by Brenda Plaster, is 81″ x 96″ when finished–the ideal size for a double or full size bed. If you love this quilt, be sure to download the pattern for the FREE coordinating¬†Good Vibes Pillow pillow! The combo looks striking (and cozy!) in any guest room.

The Parisian Nights Quilt Kit, which measures 99-1/2″ square, is a recolor of one of our most popular quilt patterns from the Connecting Thread Archives. It makes excellent use of the cream and taupe fabrics from the collection. The neutral colors play well with a variety of home decor and make for a more gender-neutral quilt.

If you’re looking for a smaller project that uses the Country Inn collection, try the Mon Amour Table Runner by Mari Martin. This 16-1/2″ x 44-1/2″ table runner makes a fantastic addition to your spring table setting. As an added bonus, it also makes a great gift!

Last but not least is the Chalk It Up to Winter Linens pattern download by Maw-Bell. It makes four 20″ x 14″ placemats and four 16″ square finished napkins. We love how these look on wooden dining room tables!

The Country Inn collection has so much to offer: a gorgeous palette, appealing and varied visual texture, and versatility. What Country Inn project do you most want to start?

I love them all! I think I would first start on the Parisian Nights Quilt and then the English coverlet Quilt. I love the idea of the neutral palette and two color quilts. I also love Mari Martin’s patterns so I think it would be hard to pass up the elegance of the Mon Amour Table Runner.
