I finally got my sewing room back!

I absolutely LOVE the holidays but at the same time I’m soooooo glad they are OVER! Although you wouldn’t know it by looking at my house since all of our decorations are STILL up. The last of our house guests just left so I FINALLY got to use my sewing machine after not using it for about a month. I wasn’t sure if I still knew how! I’m test sewing a base for the calendar we are making in the A Year in Stitches group and it’s making me excited to started on the blocks. I didn’t realize how much I missed creating until I sat down at my machine and after the first stich heaved a sigh of relief! Although I’ve heard rumors the first block is paper piecing which I haven’t tried before so I’ve started thinking of creative replacement swear words since I have a little one in the parrot stage right now. I remember a few from my youth that I heard my Mom say such as Son of a Beehive and I admit I have started using that one myself. I’ll have to give it some more thought so I can add my own creative swear word to be passed down among the generations. 🙂

glad you have yoru sewing room back! I had to move mine into my dining room since my four year old has night terrors and sleeps in my room now. I sew after bed and have to have things ready for them to eat breakfast before I leave for work at 4:45am! (I leave, not breakfast)
I say Dagnabit! and Oh For Pete’s Sake! (I think my four year old thinks Pete is a trouble maker who comes and does naughty thigns when we are not looking!) and I guess I say “You’ve got to be kiddign me!” because I hear that one from her. So far nothing from my younger one other than “uh oh!”

Teri – I say “Son of a biscuit eater” & “God Bless America!”, though my kids are teens now…but I really like the son of a beehive. If I can remember that, I’ll use it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors of the log cabin so bright and cheery – can’t wait for the calendar pix!
