Hello Out There
9.7.2012

My name is Teri and I’m the new Director of Connecting Threads. I wanted to take a second to formally introduce myself. Some of you know me through various groups I’ve hosted (most recently the Fast & Furious Group) or through groups where I’ve been a fellow member. I have enjoyed being a part of Crafts Americana Group for over 17 years and many of those years have been spent in the Connecting Threads area. Most recently, I was Director of Purchasing which I also enjoyed very much. The great thing is that there are so many fun people here that it’s really a treat to work in any of the departments. That being said I started here answering phones for Connecting Threads (working for my friend Karen) and worked my way up through purchasing tools and books, then fabric. I was in on the sourcing of our own thread and fabric, and have a strong connection with the division. I have been a quilter for about 12 years (although I didn’t produce much in the first two years besides temper tantrums;  Judy wasn’t sure she would survive my learning to quilt) and love everything about quilting, especially the people I have met both at events and on Quilt With Us. Oh, and the FABRIC! I thought I might feel nervous taking on such a big job but I have to say, while I realize it is a big responsibility, it feels right. I get to work with amazing people who come to work every day taking on the challenge of making Connecting Threads the best it can be, who are always striving to do better and come up with ways to better delight our customers. Our team is busy cooking up ideas so you will start to see some changes, from small to big, coming through.  For an idea of how well we all work together I threw in a picture of one of our typical meetings. That’s me wearing the pink shirt in the middle. I feel so loved!

I am so looking forward to the future of Connecting Threads, and to getting to know you all along the way.

Happy Quilting!

Teri

Congratulations, Teri. Best of luck. Does this mean you’re Mari’s new boss? Is that why she needed a vacation?
