Hi, my name is Winthur (pronounced like the season) and I am the new Fabric Designer here at Connecting Threads. I am so excited to be here. Designing fabric is my passion and I feel so blessed to be at work doing what I love, with a terrific group of people! In the four short weeks that I have been working here, I have found the energy to be so inspiring. I love hearing the creative conversations going on all around me about new projects that folks are working on.

I’m a native New Yorker that moved out here to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2005. Prior to working at Connecting Threads I was a fabric designer for Pendleton Woolen Mills and a freelance textile designer for various companies. My husband and I have three little girls named Clara, Matilda, and Marian-they keep us very busy! We have a very artistic household, there are art projects in virtually every corner of our home. When not designing fabric, I love to cook and be outside as much as possible (weather permitting).

I admit that although I have made a quilt or two in the past, it’s been a while. I’m looking forward to starting up again! I’ll let you know how it goes in future posts.

This is my gaggle of girls. Sadly, I didn’t sew these beautiful little Easter dresses. They would be great made from CT fabric, maybe next year!

It was such a pleasure getting to know you and work with you for that short amount of time. I know you’ll fall in love with CT and the gang as much as I did! XO

Welcome, Winthur! I too am excited to see what you’ll be designing and agree that we need boy prints. And some more grown up masculine designs as well. Have fun!
