Gifty Placemats

3 comments » Uncategorized

As soon as the gray days of winter set in I start craving color and thinking about summer. I made these place mats from the book Turning Strips and Squares into Table Sets. They were so quick, easy AND quilt as you go. You could whip them out in an afternoon. I plan on making more for Christmas gifts. There is also a pattern for hot pads and a casserole carrier that goes with them. I used a little fabric from Cheep Talk, Golden Afternoon, and Quilter’s Candy.

Your cheery placemats, made me smile. Bright colors, and the striped binding will look good in any home you choose to send them to live in.

I love your placemats! I love to do seasonal decorating and this would be great! Changing the fabric would make them look totally different, but still easy and fast.
    thanks for the idea!
