Gifty Galore – Project 1

Hello my quilty friends!! My name is Karrie (AKA KarrieLyne) from Freckled Whimsy and I am here today to bring you a pattern made exclusively for Connecting Threads Gifty Galore Projects and for you!

This pattern originally was going to be just a baby quilt pattern, but I loved it so much I expanded the pattern to include more sizes.  How many sizes, you ask? FIVE! Of course, you can reduce or expand from there as you like, but I give you the basic guidelines to make this quilt in several sizes.

One of the best parts about this quilt is the fact that it is super easy to cut out and to piece which means it goes together quite quickly. The youth size can easily be pieced in a weekend. The larger sizes, of course, may take a bit more time, but still super easy.  We all love easy, right?

Ready to see the quilt? I’ve called her Baby’s Breath and I hope you like it!!  You can find it here on Connecting Threads.

20140605-20140605-IMG_0165

It seems every time I want to take photos, the wind wants to help.  Sometimes it offers a gentle hand.. like this photo. :)

A simple cloud pattern quilted into the enter quilt finishes it off quite nicely, I think! My quilter, Darla Padilla, is quite amazing!

I hope you enjoy this quilt and the pattern, and of course, I’d love to see your quilts when you make them too!!!! My email address is linked on my blog above! If you have a minute, stop by and have a look!

For more of my patterns available at Connecting Threads click here.

Much Love!!!

We would LOVE to see how your projects turn out. Join the Gifty Galore group on Quilt With Us (QWU) and post your pictures there for everyone to enjoy. If you’re on Pinterest, upload your picture and tag it with #GG14. Of course, we would also love to see your pictures on our Facebook wall!

Please post any questions about this project below in comments and we will respond.

We had a few glitches this morning. The blog went live before the pattern was up on the website. All is fixed now and the links should be working.

Awesome and how appealing to so many that you offer different sizes. The solids are like bright gems that pop against the white.

I love the pattern. It is adorable. However, since I’m on a very strict disability budget I will have to pass on this one. I have some just as easy quilt patterns that I can do. Sorry to have to pass. I love the pattern.

Linda, I’m in the same boat – (if you don’t mind sharing your boat) sew what I plan on doing is using fabrics I already have to make the pattern into a pillow size in colors I know a friend loves so I can cross 1 gift off my list for December. Where there is a will, there is a way. I hope this will give you a way to join in too.

Great quilt. I will most likely order it. But, question on the required amount of material. For the queen it has 5? yard for background and the queen and the king require the same amount of yardage for the binding and the same amount for the backing. Is this correct?

Hi Nancy sorry the little “?” is a rouge formatting error. Thanks for catching that for me. I corrected that on the website. Karrie will address the yardage question, but from my quick math it appears to be correct.

One very important exception: Donations. Preemie clothes, baby garments and burial layettes are all needed somewhere, and so are baby quilts–so don’t forget those who would treasure a quilt from a crafty stranger who could make and give with love to their little one!
