Two-Color Zip Pouch 03

The Two-Colored Zip Pouch is a fun and easy project to make for a variety of people on your gift giving list. You can get a completely different look just by changing up the fabrics. This is a fun way to use some novelty fabrics, or you could piece one of the panels from scraps if you would like. (I think scrappy is always a good idea!!) Play around with different combinations and have fun!

If you aren’t comfortable with zipper installation, don’t let that stop you from attempting this project. The tabs on the ends of the zipper make the bag construction easier (in my opinion!) and gives you a nice, clean finish.

This pouch is versatile-perfect for holding art supplies, a hand sewing project, or a small knitting project. It could be used as a makeup bag, or sew up several to help keep you organized while you travel. The possibilities for use are endless!

You can get the download pattern or this project is also included in Fast, Fun, & Gifty book. You can find the rest of my download patterns here.

We would LOVE to see how your projects turn out. Head over to the new Gifty Galore Flickr page and post your project photos there for everyone to enjoy! Of course, we would also love to see your pictures on our Facebook wall. Please post any questions about this project below in the comments and we will gladly respond to you directly.

I love this project! I could make bags all the time, but then would be up to my neck in bags. Or my family will be….

I could use this. Grandkids sleep over and I’m always finding a sock or something of theirs afterward. Would beat a plastic bag.

I made one of the samples of this bag and it was really fast and fun to sew! Great instructions Amanda!! This is a GREAT project to try your first zipper on, really you can do it!! I actually have to make myself another one because my 6 year old son stole this one to carry his Star Wars guys in. I knew better than to use space fabric…..

I love bags. I need to make one that would work for all my sewing supplies on a trip. i made a bag like the one you show for school supplies. It needs to have rings so it will go into a notebook to carry around to all the Middle school and High school class. Students are always asking for a pen or pencils.
