Gifty Galore 2011: Little Zipper Bags

4 comments » patterns, staff projects

I began the Little Zipper Bag Pattern and followed the cutting directions, (well sort of, and then completely ignored the instructions for the rest of the bag). Why you ask? Because I wrote the pattern, so I thought I knew enough to make these little bags without stressing about the instructions! As you can see I’ve switched up where I put some of the fabrics, the way I stitched the bands on, and where I put the interfacing–oh and the width of the strap. However, I stand by my end result. They could, of course, be completely scrappy and I think that would look really good, but I love this fabric collection – Birchtree Lane – so I had to have just a little bit of it.

My life has taken a bit of a change recently. When I designed these bags I was thinking they could be used for cosmetics, or sewing projects on the go, now I’m thinking the small one could be for a binky, and one of the larger ones is for an emergency diaper change kit; that still leaves one for sewing projects on the go!

Very cute. They could be used for just about anything! When I click on the link for the bag directions that you provide, I got an error message generated from Connecting Threads. Hmmmm…….
