Wahoo! The Gifty Galore season has begun! Hum, some of you are probably wondering what Gifty Galore might be. Gifty began three years ago when a couple of quilters here at Connecting Threads thought how cool it would be to have an online group dedicated to bringing people together for the purpose of preparing small, quick gifts for the holiday season. Every year is so fun and exciting to begin our season of gift making. Last year brought us some wild and crazy projects from bags to runners to fabric dying!  And, we had some fantastic ideas from our members like having a large gift basket for storing all our homemade goodies so guests could pick what they wanted when visiting. Also, members offered some very innovative and clever changes to the Connecting Threads projects! Gifty Galore members are very creative and more than willing to share their ideas which makes participation so much fun! We go hog wild!

Our new year is full of projects of all kinds. They include: a country sachet, bags, pot holders, pillows, Christmas decorations, pin cushion, holiday pin, bell pull, mini-quilt and jewelry wallet plus some dimensional gifts from our own Susan! There is nothing better than preparing as a group for the holidays, sharing our joy and excitement and collecting a myriad of finished projects for the purpose of making others happy. Here’s the list of books some of our projects will come from:

Along with the above books we will have a number of dimensional, downloadable projects Susan Terpin has created that are very unique and fun! They include:  Little Zipper Bags, Charger Tray, Ornament, Photo Frame, Door Mouse and Tea Cozy. Whoa, there is so much coming!  Welcome to our new 2011 Season of Joy!  Come join us here, it’s free!

I like to make slim seasonal wall hangings for my mothers door at her nursing home. Not all table runners or small quilts work for this. How about some joyful projects for this catagory? Gladys
