Well, I’m Dawn and it’s my first official day here at Connecting Threads! It appears one of my initiations into the team is to introduce myself as the new Project Coordinator.
Coming from generations of crafty women and a general knack for DIY, I am so happy to be part of a team that contributes to the art of making! Growing up, I was all about reading and making weird trinkets from sculpt and bake clay. In more recent years I have expanded my tastes to include all-purpose sewing, embroidery, creative cooking, permaculture, filmmaking, costume-making, and most recently crocheting after recently inheriting my great-grandma’s expansive vintage hook collection.
My crafty goals for this year include: sewing at least one fully vintage-inspired garment, crocheting a few garments and getting better with fine lace, at least one quilt, and successfully propagating some of my perennial plants.
As far as what I will be doing with everyone here; I will be producing tutorial videos, copywriting, styling catalog shoots, and social media endeavors! It’s a new position, so there’s plenty of room for growth. I’m excited to join everyone here at CT and look forward to how the fabric unfolds.
