Binding Completely by Machine – Part 2

On July 4th, I posted a blog about a new binding technique accomplished completely by machine. To see that posting and read more about the  Freedom Flag Mini Runner project itself, click here. The idea for the binding method came from an excellent tutorial on Aunt Marti’s website – I recommend you read that one as well. By the way, for general instructions about adding binding to quilts, there is a detailed  Binding ...

Mug Rugs Thru the Year – October Pattern

I seem to be on a theme of Halloween Cats! (see my post on the Scaredy Cat Wall Hanging here). I really like the look of projects that combine piecing with stitchery, but put a cat on it and it’s almost irresistible. This Mug Rug Pattern was fun and relatively easy to complete.  I finished the stitchery in a couple of evenings while watching TV.  It is ...

Introducing the Hampton Hues fabric collection

I cannot stop drooling over the new Hampton Hues collection.  It is my personal favorite fabric collection to date.  I have been obsessed with coral colors for many years now, and it’s so exciting to see them come to life in a fabric collection.  I was inspired by the beach and the Hamptons lifestyle, ...

Heart Pincushion

I was thinking…  what can be made for Valentine’s Day that’s fun, but not too much work. A pincushion is perfect! Where to begin, so I started drawing the most obvious image, a heart. How about, two hearts that fit together so well that without one it would look like something was missing? Hey, February is American Heart Month! Perfect!
