A Book Review and Giveaway: Quilts Made with Love

This was a hard review for me to start writing because, in all honesty, I struggled to narrow down all that I want to say about this book and its author. Rachel Griffith, the author of the new Quilts Made with Love, is an amazing person to know, and an absolutely fabulous quilt designer. I've known and worked with Rachel for a couple of years now, and through the stress of maintaining a blog, keeping up with her four kiddos, and writing a book (!), she always remains positive, motivated, and utterly inspiring. Rachel has a knack for designing quilts that can be used for really every occasion. She understands that the sentimentality that goes along with the gift of a quilt speaks loudly in times of happiness or sadness. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is divided into two different themes: Quilts to Celebrate, and Quilts to Comfort. Because I love this book so much, I was eager to get it in the hands of as many people as possible. You know what that means, right? It's giveaway time!

Color Theory Wrap-Up & Giveaway!

I hope that you've found some useful information over the past few weeks with our color theory posts. The most important part of using and understanding color is having fun with it! Remember that color theory isn't a strict set of rules, but more of a guide to help you better your method of choosing and placing fabric in your quilts. I wanted to leave you with a few resources of inspiration, fun, and reference. Two websites I actually just found myself that are great for color scheme inspiration are: www.ColourLovers.com and www.ColorSchemeDesigner.com. Don't forget about our Design Table! It's a great resource for comparing our fabrics right online.
