Look What We Did!

I am so pleased and proud to be able to show off our first-ever published book Tiny Obsessions! This was a collaborative effort between Connecting Threads and Vicki Bellino and it's absolutely adorable if I do say so myself! It all started with an idea...

Gifty Galore 2012: Terrific Tri-Fold Wallet

You guys are in for a small challenge, I mean a treat! I chose to sew up a this adorable tri-fold wallet from the book A Bag for all Reasons by Lisa Lam for our final Gifty Galore 2012 project. This wallet features a coin pouch, 8 card slots, and a separate small pocket space for recipts.  My current wallet is packed with recipts, so I know that this extra pocket will come in handy for me. During the long winter (rainy) months here in the Northwest, I tend to flock towards anything bright and festive; that's why I chose to sew this one up in our Riveria II fabric collection.

Pleated Purse-Frame

I’ve always wanted to make a cute little clutch so I thought this was a great opportunity to make the Pleated Purse-Frame Purse from A Bag for All Reasons by Liam Lam.  I went with the alternate size and made it 2” taller.

My Gifty Galore Project – Evening Star Makeup Case

You'll soon notice a reoccurring theme with me and the projects I take on.  I'm overly ambitious and absolutely love projects made from super small piecing.  I loved this little makeup case from Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts by Hisako Arai and Yoko Sanjo and thought it was a great project to work on.  Although I love the look of small pieced projects, I'm not a very patient person.  So this project let me attempt the work of small piecing but at a manageable rate.

Small Bag with English Paper Piecing

In Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts: 25 Charming Projects to Make Using Classic Quilt Motifs by Hisako Arai and Yoko Sanjo, I was drawn to the Market Tote and coordinating Small Bag because I wanted to practice English Paper Piecing (EPP). I chose the Small Bag because its size was more suitable to a quick Gifty Galore project.

My little helper!

Boy, I sure don’t know how I got anything done before my son came along. At three he is in the “helping” stage and wants to help with EVERYTHING. God forbid any one flushes the toilet or throws anything in the trash themselves because apparently those are his jobs. Quilting, it seems, is not exempt from his help. I was trying to get my Autumn Berries Table Runner, from the book My Runners, finished up in time to decorate ...

The Compact Groceries Tote

Too often I have found myself in a grocery store at the check-out counter with my reusable grocery bag in my car.  Sound familiar? This is why I chose The Compact Groceries Tote from A Bag For All Reasons, by Lisa Lam for the Gifty Galore project this week.
