Gifty Galore – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Towels

Yet again, my gifty galore project for this week is another project from Ayumi Takahashi's Patchwork, Please! As I've said before, this book is full of wonderful projects. This time I chose the "Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Towels." This being one of the first projects in the book, it quickly made its way onto my to-do list after the first time I flipped through. Bright colors + text + linen = I'm sold. Since the project was kitchen-oriented, I picked Nana's Pantry as my collection of choice for this round. I love the vibrancy and versatility of this collection and found it fun to mix and match prints for the different letters.

A Book Review and Giveaway: Quilts Made with Love

This was a hard review for me to start writing because, in all honesty, I struggled to narrow down all that I want to say about this book and its author. Rachel Griffith, the author of the new Quilts Made with Love, is an amazing person to know, and an absolutely fabulous quilt designer. I've known and worked with Rachel for a couple of years now, and through the stress of maintaining a blog, keeping up with her four kiddos, and writing a book (!), she always remains positive, motivated, and utterly inspiring. Rachel has a knack for designing quilts that can be used for really every occasion. She understands that the sentimentality that goes along with the gift of a quilt speaks loudly in times of happiness or sadness. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is divided into two different themes: Quilts to Celebrate, and Quilts to Comfort. Because I love this book so much, I was eager to get it in the hands of as many people as possible. You know what that means, right? It's giveaway time!

Obsessed With Spritz Cookie Ornaments

Spritz Cookie Ornaments I was looking for a project that was portable and could be done in my lap while watching Karate and cheerleading practices.  I also wanted something that didn’t require buying too many new supplies or would take too long to complete. Inspired by Tiny Obsessions by Vicki Bellino, I decided to give English Paper Piecing (in miniature) a try.  Rather than adding a split loop to the Keychain project, I thought a loop of invisible thread would turn these into terrific Christmas tree ornaments.

Fall Pin Cushions for Gifty!!

Judy and I decided to collaborate on a Gifty Galore project, since I love to embroider and she loves to sew.  It was a win win situation!  For Gifty Galore, the staff here at CT typically just chooses a project out of one of the new books that we are going to showcase.  For this project though, we chose a project from a book and paired it with a pin cushion pattern we carry.  When we ...

Gifty Galore – A Bunch of Crosses pillow

This Gifty Galore project is from the Pillow Pop book by Heather Bostic. This book is full of fun and fabulous pillows, and perfect for scraps! There were quite a few pillows that caught my eye, but I really liked the bold graphic look of the "A Bunch of Crosses" pillow and knew it would go well with the cider-sipping feeling of Sun Kissed Harvest.
