It’s Catalog Proofing Time!

As you may imagine, when your company operates exclusively through a catalog and online store, the accuracy of content that we put out there is VERY important to our customers. Every four or five weeks, a team of people from Connecting Threads come together to look meticulously over the pages of our upcoming catalog, and make any last minute changes that may arise. While there are still little typos that sneak through the cracks once in a while, we do our best to make sure that every i is dotted and every t is crossed.

Meet Laraine, Inventory Manager for Connecting Threads

Hello! I’m Laraine and I started working for Crafts Americana Group in 2001, back when there was a small retail store.  At the time, I was a tole and decorative painter who knew nothing about quilting. (I remember having to ask what a Fat Quarter was!)   That didn’t last long, however.  I don’t think you can work around fabric and creative people without catching the “quilting bug”.  Before the end of that year I had made my first quilt--a King size to fit my bed!

Meet Debbie, Production Manager for Connecting Threads

My name is Debbie and I work at the "happiest place on earth". No, it’s not Disneyland, but we have a lot of characters with many hats and have fun doing our jobs just the same. I have worked for Crafts Americana Group for over 10 years now. I was first employed as a Customer Service Representative for four years before moving on to Connecting Threads. I couldn’t believe that I got the opportunity to work and get paid doing what I loved: sewing and quilting!

Meet Katrina, Graphic Designer for Connecting Threads

Hello out there! My name is Katrina and I am the graphic designer for Connecting Threads. I started at Crafts Americana in January of 2012 as a non-quilter and pretty oblivious to the vast world of fabric. I have been a graphic designer for almost five years, but have never been in love with the subject/products that I work around like I am with Connecting Threads. I’ve come to appreciate and love the art of quilting and my fondness for fabric has grown exponentially. It might even be a bit dangerous as I can’t even walk by fabric without touching it now…

Meet Judy, Project Manager for Connecting Threads

I have worked for Connecting Threads for over 15 years.  Like everyone else here, I have a variety of hats I wear in my role. I make sure we are following all of our procedures.  People think of me as the Procedure Police (AKA office nag) because so much of my job revolves around deadlines being met, and projects being done according to plan.  I really do enjoy working here and the best part is all of the great people I get to see every day.  It is always busy and I love it. Hi, I'm Alisha! I think of my job as being the eyes, ears, and voice of Connecting Threads. I am the person who reads and responds to every comment on our Facebook page, every response to our blog posts, every tweet on Twitter…you get the picture. On a daily basis, I am conversing with our customers and fans through social media, over email, on the phone, and even in person. Everything I do in my role is structured around helping us communicate with you. Let me just say, I have the best job in the company.
