I manage the Designer Downloads on the website. What a great thrill it was to get the Designer Download program up and running. It is great to work with so many talented designers. I love the continual inspiration I get from the creative people I work with, now if I could just find the time to get to that stack of quilting projects awaiting me…

    Mini Pumpkins Topper

I am not a huge Halloween fan. I’m not against it, but I just want to decorate for Fall and be done with it.  I do LOOOOOVE pumpkins however, so when I saw Mini Pumpkins Table Treat by Lynne Hagmeier’s design from Kansas Trouble’s, I jumped at the chance to make it. It is only 17 inches and the pumpkins are fusible applique so it is small enough to make ...

Golden Age Pillow Pattern – Free Download

The focal print in Golden Age, “Old Hollywood” is such a striking print and an unusual one, compositionally speaking.  I love it!  I think it’s so pretty and so interesting!  Knowing that this print would be a bit more challenging to work with, I knew instantly I wanted to showcase it by creating a decorative accent pillow.  I also knew I wanted to incorporate embroidery to give it a more three dimensional effect.

    Chevron Baby Quilt

If you are looking for a quick and easy baby quilt, this one is it.  The fabric requirements are very few and it goes together lickity-split.  Chevrons seem to have taken over the quilting world especially when it comes to children’s quilts.

Cascade Garden Quilt using Nana’s Pantry

Have you seen Shannon Mower of Modern Tradition's revamp of Cascading Garden Quilt using our Nana’s Pantry fabric.  We love it! It is so bright and fun.  I had a chance to interview Shannon.  I hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as I did.

    My Spring Terrace collection.

As I started to design Spring Terrace I wanted to do something reminiscent to Whirlwind Romance, a collection I did a few years back.  But I wanted to make this group new and fresh and have a feel of its own.  I knew I wanted to incorporate scrolls, for two reasons.  One, Whirlwind Romance had a scroll print and it was very popular.  And two, because if there’s one thing I know about Connecting Threads customers by now is that they LOVE scroll designs.  Scroll designs are delightful because they naturally lend to a non-directional composition as well as having a sense of whimsy, so they are very useful as well as pleasing to the eye.  In Spring Terrace you get not only one, but two to play with…the focal “Flourish” and coordinates “Tendrils”.

    Gifty – All Bundled Up!

I love snowmen, but slightly less crazy about snowmen than Teri (I mean how many people have a 10 foot snowman in their office?)  I have a great collection that I love putting out every season.  When I saw this cute little All Bundled Up guy by The Wooden Bear and Teri hadn’t snagged him yet for Gifty, I put my name down to make him.

    Falling Leaves Table Runner

When I saw Falling Leaves Pattern Download from Cora’s Quilts I fell in love.  This would look so perfect in my living room this Fall.  I used the 5 Fat Quarter option (which by the way gives you enough fabric for a scrappy back…BONUS!)  I thought this would look great in Jenni Calo’s new line Mix It Up!

Check out my latest collection: Mix It Up!

As I was developing the concept for Mix It Up! I knew I wanted to create a collection that encompassed two things specifically.  I wanted it to be gender neutral and I wanted it to be a stash builder collection.  I get many requests that I definitely keep in mind and many people ask for more “guy friendly” collections.  Mix It Up! offers so much.  With a myriad of plaids, stripes and geometric prints that incorporate practically every color from our Quilter’s Candy palette, the possibilities of this collection are endless.
