    2011 Cyber Monday Sale

I know Black Friday sales are a family tradition in some households that often involve long lists, road maps, and camping in parking lots, but I prefer to avoid the crowds and stay home on Black Friday. Now Cyber Monday sales, on the other hand, are more my style. I love the convenience of shopping from home (or even at work on my lunch break!). Now, we know not everyone can shop at work, so this year we're starting our Cyber Monday sale a day early, on Sunday 11/27/11 at 6 a.m. PST for all you early birds on the West Coast. The sale doesn't end until Tuesday, 11/29/11 at 8 a.m. PST, so you'll have plenty of time to log on and stock up on some super Cyber Monday deals. Bookmark this Cyber Monday landing page and check back Sunday morning to see what's on sale, or sign up for our weekly e-newsletter, and we'll deliver a reminder to your inbox on Sunday. Happy shopping!

    April Year In Stitches Update

Can you believe it's almost May already? April is flying by! Jenna designed April's appliqued block which was released earlier this month and inspired by Mt. Hood. You can get the pattern here for just 99 cents. Sue whipped it up in no time at all. Teri's version is just as pretty with a warmer feel and country fabrics from our Abigail's Garden and Midnight Garden collections. While I love our staff and all of their creativity, it's even more fun to see what the other members of the Year In Stitches quilt along are making with the pattern...

Highlights from A Year In Stitches

I have a confession to make. I'm a Year In Stitches lurker. Those of you who are members of Quilt With Us, our online quilting community, are probably already familar with Year In Stitches. Year In Stitches is our Block of the Month quilt along. The members of this group are making a Calendar Keeper wall hanging along with a detachable decorative block for each month. They started in February with the Calendar Keeper pattern and March's block. They're making blocks one month ahead, so if you want to join the fun, you have all month to sew, and then the next month you get to enjoy it! I am not sewing the blocks myself, but I've been watching their progress, and I am in awe of all the beautiful blocks they've made so far. March's block was released February first. It's a super cute paper pieced daffodil designed by Sue. Download the pattern for only 99 cents.

    The Season of Giving

The Oregon Humane Society recently put out a call for bandanas made from holiday fabric for the cats and pups at the shelter. We had some extra Winter Fun and Wrap It Up samples here in the office, so I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon making kitty sized Christmas bandanas. Last night I stopped by the shelter to volunteer in the cattery, and I couldn't resist snapping a couple of shots of the residents in their holiday finery. This is Keesha,

    Win Your Wish List!

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED. See who won here. While I’ve been making my gift giving list and checking it twice to get ready for the holidays, I’ve also been thinking about what I’d like to find under the tree Christmas morning. That’s why I love our new online wish list on Connecting Threads. It’s not only easy to keep track of your lotto list (you know, all the things you’d splurge on if you won the lottery…), but it’s ...

    Bunting Pillow and Sampler Giveaway!!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW OVER I am not a very experienced sewist, but when I saw this Bunting Pillow Cover on CraftZine.com by Cicada Daydream, I NEEDED to make one out of a Bold Sampler. It was just too cute to resist. I was slightly intimidated by the pattern, so I enlisted the help of my friend Jenny. Together we cut 12 little flags and pressed each one. The pattern had 15 ...
