I have worked for Connecting Threads since 1997. I am the Merchandising/Project Manager. I coordinate getting our patterns tested and samples sewn for photography. I also monitor our website content. This is a great place to work! Quilts and coworkers that share the love of quilting, what more could I ask for in a job?

    Monster Tooth Pillow

While browsing through Nancy Halvorsen’s darling book, Curiosities & Mischief, looking for quick and easy gifts to make, I saw the cutest little monster! Not just a monster, a usable tooth pillow! There are a lot of great kids gifts in this book but this one spoke to me. I fell in love and wanted to make him.

    Keep Wishing

Last year when we were asked what we would really like to get for Christmas for our Staff Wish List, I decided to shoot for the moon. I have always heard you should dream big. I really wanted one of the Easy Display Quilt Hangers. They are beautiful and made out of nice quality wood. Well, guess what? I didn’t get it! None of my coworkers bought it for me. Those jerks! Crooked Trail

I certainly love red, white and blue as well as plaids, special weaves and images from nature.  The chevron is especially a favorite as well.  Crooked Trail reminded me of a forest setting, and a "not so deliberate" trail that seems to always recreate itself. Usually crooked, the path is determined by the terrain itself rarely being straight. Also, the peaks and valleys of the chevron design bring to mind hills and valleys difficultly traveled.

I love the rich, deep colors found in the Rose Manor Collection.  Reds in shades of wine, with greens of olive and evergreen, complemented by soft cream, antique, mustard and taupe, bring Rose Manor to life!

    Reversible Fresh Tote

The Hello Sunshine Collection is perfect for anything laundry with its focal motif of garments on a clothesline being tossed about in the fresh summer breeze. All around the clothesline are sweet, pot-bellied birds. It made me ponder the summer days when I hang my freshly cleaned laundry outside on the clothesline listening to the bird’s melodic music. I love the smell of the crisp air in my clothing!

    The Paper Pieced Pin Cushion

I love the Needles and Notions book but couldn't decide what I wanted to make. I love paper piecing but in small amounts and I really didn't want to make a quilt or a wall hanging. I collect pincushions so I decided to make the pincushion block and frame it.

    Happy December!

Jenni and I were thinking yesterday, “Hey, we have all our Merry Minis samples hanging around: lets decorate!”  So while we were going through the piles of samples looking for our holiday quilts, look what we found!  Wahoo!  Our Advent Snowman Kit!  I ran out to the store for some delicious chocolate and we hung our darling Snowman and stuffed his belly full of pockets with chocolate.

Gifty Galore 2011: Shop Hopper’s Bag

I hate to carry a big purse purse when I go on trips or shopping. I need to keep my hands free so I can carry all of the bags of fabric and goodies that I buy! I made this cute Shop Hopper's Bag from the  Bags Pillows & Pincushions book   featured in the Gifty Galore Group.
