A new kind of kit in the catalog

Now that our October catalog is out, have you noticed our new kits from books? There are so many great quilt project books out there, and we thought it would be fun to feature some of our favorites by sewing the projects in our fabrics and kitting them up. It really shows how versatile the book patterns are, and the kits are great for taking the guesswork out of choosing fabrics. We decided not to include the books in the kits to avoid unnecessary duplicates (if you already own the book or want more than one kit).

We started out by featuring two books. The first is by our dear friend, Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek–it’s her first book. Yay, Vicki! We made four kits from Bloom Creek Quilts (the book is on sale right now at 40% off!). My personal favorite is the Blooms for Annabelle quilt with the matching pillow.

I just love the way this pattern looks in our Antoinette collection. So fresh and feminine!

The other book we chose is a fun one that is all about using precuts, A Baker’s Dozen (also 40% off!). I love the way all the kits turned out, but my absolute favorite is the Winterberry Quilt.

The photoshoot was at Karen’s house, and if you follow the tutorials Karen does, you’ll know that her cats cannot resist posing. There’s a cat on the Bloom Creek Quilts book cover too, so it must be one of those funny cat quirks.

Anyway, I would love to hear what you think of our new book kits and any suggestions you might have of future books to feature in this way.

Blooms for Annabelle is adorable. I love it especially in the CT Antonette fabrics!
