A Delicious Giveaway!

I had so much fun designing the Just Desserts collection

I love to bake, and I love to eat sweets, so coming up with these images was easy as pie.  Ha!  The only downside was that drawing the yummy looking treats made me hungry!  One of my favorite Christmas traditions has always been to bake cookies to give as gifts for friends and loved ones.

Since Just Desserts is all about sweets, I thought that it would be great way to dress up my goodies by wrapping them in the bright and playful fabric.  Not only does the recipient get delicious goodies inside, they get a piece of fun fabric on the outside that they can reuse in any manner they wish. The size of your container will determine how much fabric you’ll need, but really, a fat quarter will usually do the trick.  I decided to pink the edges so that the fabric wouldn’t fray.  Just wrap your container and tie with a fun bow and gift tag.  Or, if you don’t have a container to use, you can simply use a fat quarter and tie them up with just a bow.  So cute.

I got my inspiration from this free pattern: Fat Quarter Gift Idea Sheet.  So many fun ideas!

Because I know that holiday baking is something that many of you do, and because it is the season of giving, I thought, what better than to giveaway two fat quarter samplers of this yummy collection!  All you need to do to enter is leave me a comment by 11:59pm on December 11th telling me what you love to bake most.  We will pick our lucky winners on Monday, December 12th.  Good luck!

I love this collection. I am planning to make a “candy jar” quilt for my granddaughter and this would be perfect! My Christmas “go-to” is a fruit cake bar cookie. It is made with a sugar cookie crust, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, pecans and mixed dried fruits. It is pretty with all the different colored fruits, and so yummy!

My most favorite sweet item to bake for Christmas are Seven Layer Bars. I don’t think there is a person in my family who does not like them. Even the self-proclaimed “coconut” haters will eat them.

How fun is this!! I love to bake muffins and quick-breads. There will be a few “food” gifts on my Christmas Gift list – the recipients will get loaves of banana bread made from my grandmother’s recipe as well as strawberry bread! Wrapping them in FQs would be sure to know the gift was from me. Thank you for a wonderful site (waiting to receive my recent order now!) and a fantastic giveaway.

I LOVE COOKIES and I LOVE FABRICS!! I am a person with diabetes, so I can have LOTS of fabric … and only an occasional cookie. This is SUCH a great idea for using fabrics to present your baked goods. It’s my hope that LOTS of people give us fabric-wrapped cookies this year … my husband can have the cookies, and I’ll have the fabric. My favorites to bake for the holidays are cream cheese spritz cookies … different colors for different batches, sprinkles on them; and I know many people will say AAARGH … but we are a fruitcake-loving family; I enjoy making applesauce fruit cakes. I may wrap them in cling wrap this year and THEN also in a piece of fabric with a bow made from torn scraps to look country-chic!
