Design Contest Update!

As many of you know, we announced our five finalists for the Fabric Design Contest a couple of weeks ago. Since the announcement, one of the designers has been disqualified from the competition as they failed to provide sufficent contact information. Given this, we made the decision to open the contest up to two additional participants. The first addition was the next runner up based on your votes. To mix things up and add an element of surprise, we decided to include a "Wild Card" finalist as well. We then needed to figure out how to decide on the Wild Card and we ultimately landed on the idea to draw the finalist's design name from a hat.

Caddy Pad

I love to take my iron to classes and retreats but don’t like to mess with trying to figure out how to get a hot iron home. I have seen the Caddy Pad pattern made in many different fabrics and it always looks so cute.

Snow Flakes Mini Runner

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Snow Flakes Mini Runner! It is absolutely adorable. First, of course, I love snowmen; second, it’s mini– who doesn’t love mini?; and third, it was quick and easy. What a trifecta. This was super simple to make, no matching and the embroidery is primitive so it shouldn’t be perfect. It was fun to make all the different expressions with embroidery and different size and type of buttons ...

Falling Leaves Table Runner

When I saw Falling Leaves Pattern Download from Cora’s Quilts I fell in love.  This would look so perfect in my living room this Fall.  I used the 5 Fat Quarter option (which by the way gives you enough fabric for a scrappy back…BONUS!)  I thought this would look great in Jenni Calo’s new line Mix It Up!

Sweet & Simple Sack

The ‘sweet & simple’ part of the name is remarkably accurate.  Everyone who has seen it has remarked that it’s a great size and how nice the shape is!  The word ‘sack’, however, had to have been chosen simply for its alliteration appeal.  This is quite simply too adorable to be deemed a ‘sack’!  Of course, this is just my opinion.

Abundance Table Runner

The Abundance Table Runner was a fun pattern to sew; of course I loved it because it’s Quilt As You Go. I love the fact that once I’m done sewing I can just bind it and be done.

How Indigo Patchwork came to be.

Over a year and a half ago when Richard from The Design Library was in town to show us vintage artwork we leased a very special piece.  The focal in Indigo Patchwork looks very different than it did from its original form.  What we purchased was a painting of only two colors, it was a red ground with a white design.

Gifty Galore Chevron Pillow

I decided that I needed deadlines to accomplish some quilting/sewing goals I set for myself, so I signed up for some projects for Gifty Galore. I saw these adorable Chevron pillows in the book Pillow Pop and decided they would look super cute in my house! I selected fabrics that I thought would look good in my family room. I decorated it quite a few years ago now in my “wallpaper phase” and it may not be trendy but I still like it.
