Trim the Towel Embroidery Project

I just wanted to share one of my projects I'm making this year for the holidays for friends and family! If you are looking for quick patterns to make this year, then Simply Christmas by Sherri K. Falls is just for you because she combines piecing, applique, and embroidery to embellish cute, holiday-inspried gifts like a mini-quilt, embroidered tea towels, and a cute cup cozie. For this particular gift project, I chose Trim the Towel.

Pumpkin Spice Table Topper

This past weekend I decided to make a cute Pumpkin Spice Table Topper as a holiday project. I spent a rainy weekend hand sewing while watching a British miniseries on my computer. Heaven! I haven’t done much embroidery in recent years so it was a fun to brush up on my backstitch.

Small Bag with English Paper Piecing

In Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts: 25 Charming Projects to Make Using Classic Quilt Motifs by Hisako Arai and Yoko Sanjo, I was drawn to the Market Tote and coordinating Small Bag because I wanted to practice English Paper Piecing (EPP). I chose the Small Bag because its size was more suitable to a quick Gifty Galore project.

Keep Wishing

Last year when we were asked what we would really like to get for Christmas for our Staff Wish List, I decided to shoot for the moon. I have always heard you should dream big. I really wanted one of the Easy Display Quilt Hangers. They are beautiful and made out of nice quality wood. Well, guess what? I didn’t get it! None of my coworkers bought it for me. Those jerks! Ha ha.

It’s time again to Win Your Wish List!

It's time again for Connecting Threads' favorite contest of the year: the Win Your Wish List contest! While everyone here on the Connecting Threads team has been making our gift giving lists and checking them twice, we've also been thinking about what we'd like to find under the tree this season. That's why we love Connecting Threads' Wish List. Not only does it make it easy to keep track of everything on your lotto list (you know, all the things you'd splurge on if you won the lottery...), but it's also simple to drop your friends and family some not-so-subtle hints now that the holidays are just around the corner. Wouldn't it be nice to get the things you really want this year?

Gifty – Starlight Table Topper

This Starlight Table Topper Pattern by Loraine Manwaring and Susan Nelsen from the book Holiday Wrappings, has been a favorite of mine since this downloadable pattern went up on our website.  So, when it was chosen for Gifty, I snatched up the opportunity to do this project.  Once the cutting is complete, the project actually sews up pretty fast and can be completed in 1-3 days depending on your experience and speed.
